DIMVA

Preambel and Ethics

Started in 2004 DIMVA has become a recognized venue for cutting-edge security research, attracting high-quality submissions and promoting collaboration among academia, industry, and government.
DIMVA is organized by the Special Interest Group on Security, Intrusion Detection, and Response (SIDAR) of the German Informatics Society (GI).
DIMVA gets orientation from the Ethical Guidelines of the German Informatics Society.

Steering Committee - Role and Composition

To monitor the long-term planning and success of DIMVA, the Steering Committee plans future conferences, evaluates how well each conference has met the goals of DIMVA, and implements improvements to better meet those goals. The role of the Steering Committee is to:

  • promote and maintain the DIMVA conference as recognized venue for cutting-edge security research,
  • appoint the General (co-)Chair(s) and the Program (co-)Chair(s) of DIMVA editions,
  • provide advice to the current and future chairs of DIMVA,
  • obtain feedback about DIMVA and improve future DIMVA editions,
  • invite bids for organizing future DIMVA editions,
  • select the sites and dates for future DIMVA editions,
  • resolve general issues involved with DIMVA.
The Steering Committee is composed of the PC chairs and General Chairs of the last four DIMVA editions as well as four additional long term supporters of DIMVA, namely Ulrich Flegel, Michael Meier, Michele Caminati and Sven Dietrich.

Selection of Chairs

The DIMVA Steering Committee tries to find chairs across career stages but with sufficient experience to take over the responsibility as a program chair or general chair of this long-standing conference.
The selection process aims at fostering scientific excellence while explicitly supporting minorities, underrepresented, and women.

Diversity

DIMVA is committed to supporting diversity in the security community.
